Bearbrick, also widely known as the building-block bear, is a toy produced by Japanese company MediumICOM. It was officially launched in August 2001, and by 2009, the 18 th generation had been released. In mainland China, it is distributed by PPW.
Nicknames: Bearbrick, be@rbrick, BB, building-block bear, Brick Bearcub, Transformable Brick.
Bearbrick: Basic Introduction
Models:Each Bearbrick generation features base models including BASIC, JELLYBEAN, PATTERN, FLAG, HORROR, SF, CUTE, and ANIMAL.
BASIC Base Model:Each generation launches a signature color. The chest features a shiny bead and nine letters that spell out B E A R B R I C K.
JELLYBEAN Transparent Style:Each generation features transparent colors. Centered on transparency with varying color releases.
PATTERN Style:Each generation brings different patterns, prints, or special motifs.
FLAG Country Flag:Each season features a core country flag series.
HORROR:Horrifying anime characters featured across generations.
CUTE:Each generation features one adorable design, most often crafted by female designers.
ANIMAL:Each generation includes an animal-themed design. It doesn't have to be a real animal—in the 18 collection, it's the iconic Hello Kitty.
Sci-fi style:Choose a well-known sci-fi character as the design element.
ARTIST COLLABORATION PIECES:Specially designed by renowned artists; very limited quantities (2 per series).
Each series also includes hidden variants in undisclosed quantities—official sources do not reveal these designs, so collectors must discover them on their own.
Size:Six sizes available: 3.5 cm (50%), 5 cm (70%), 7 cm (100%), 14.5 cm (200%), 28 cm (400%), 70 cm (1000%)
Specifications:Each generation comes with a birth card for every teddy bear, plus one or more limited or hidden editions to enhance the collectible appeal.
Material:Bearbrick is primarily made of ABS and PVC; select limited editions feature metal, wood, or flocked finishes.
Place of origin:Most are manufactured in mainland China; select limited editions are produced overseas.
Versions:Versions such as "Japanese" or "Hong Kong" simply refer to the region of sale. The toy itself is identical—no differences in construction or materials. Any variations are limited to certification labels required by local regulations. The mainland version is identical to the Japanese version.
Physical characteristics:
Head:Typical bear-head features with equal-sized ears (distinct from Qee's asymmetric ears), slightly rounded cheeks and lips, small rounded nose protrusion, no mouth or eyes (blank body), head rotates 360° at the neck
Body:Bulging belly, straight back
Arms:100% model features arms that rotate freely at the shoulders; pincer-shaped hands with no fingers; hands can rotate at the wrists (key distinguishing feature from popobe and other bear plush toys)
Waist:Rotates 360° freely; hips slightly extend downward.
Legs:Rotate freely at the thigh root in all directions. Top of feet slightly extended forward with two round holes each. Flat foot soles with one round hole per foot. Cubic leg shape. Version info typically on the back of the leg.
Disassembly:In principle, the head, arms, and legs of a Bearbrick can all be detached from the torso—just pull them off with some force. The hands, however, cannot be removed. That said, frequent disassembly is not recommended, as the connection points will loosen over time, eventually resulting in a 'permanently loose' Bearbrick that wobbles around without structural support.
400%, 1000% Special Note:These two sizes share the same Bearbrick form—they're simply scaled up. However, their arms and legs can only rotate within a single plane (front to back); side-to-side movement is not possible. This is due to an internal gear mechanism designed to accommodate the larger size, unlike the 100% which relies on simple modular assembly. Neither size is intended for disassembly—do not attempt to force them apart.
Origin:Bearbrick's limbs and body resemble a block figure, as Bearbrick adopts the Kubrick design. The term Kubrick originated from LEGO block figures, on which Medicom designed Bearbrick.
Character:Bearbrick's widespread popularity comes from its innovative design and meticulous paintwork, but also because Medicom found the right entry point. By cross-pollinating streetwear elements, street culture, and film with Bearbrick, they created entirely new art forms. Collaborations with global artists, designers, and fashion brands produced limited and special editions. Paired with streetwear labels, these releases sparked overnight queues, driving prices higher and making subsequent collection a costly endeavor.

1. How does CHHES ensure authenticity?
CHHES follows a five-step authenticity process: sourcing review, inbound inspection, third-party authentication support, tamper-evident tagging, and after-sales review.
Items are mainly sourced from Chrome Hearts boutiques, professional buyers, and partner stores. Every item is checked before shipping.
Jewelry is checked for shape, engraving, handmade finishing, material, and oxidation details. Apparel is checked for anti-counterfeit details, serial information, embroidery labels, and workmanship.
Depending on the item, CHHES can provide a counter receipt scan or copy. Original receipts are kept by the buyer for record keeping.
Items may include a security tag or anti-swap sticker. Authentication after delivery is supported when the tag and packaging remain intact.

2. Why do some clothing items not include a DOG TG?
For Chrome Hearts apparel, US boutiques normally collect the DOG TG at checkout. Most Asian boutiques outside mainland China also collect it.
3. What packaging is included?
Chrome Hearts apparel usually comes in a plain clear plastic bag.
Chrome Hearts jewelry usually comes with a black suede pouch, not a boutique jewelry box.
Chrome Hearts bags usually come with a boutique silk dust bag.
Shopping bags are limited because boutiques usually provide only one shopping bag per buyer visit, not one bag per item.
If extra packaging is needed, it can be selected in the accessories category or on the order submission page.
4. Can CHHES provide boutique receipts?
Boutiques do not issue one separate receipt for each individual item. Contact support if a receipt copy is needed.
Original receipts must be kept by the buyer, so CHHES can only provide scans or copies when available.
5. What should I know about craftsmanship?
Chrome Hearts jewelry is handmade. Slightly unclear engravings, fine scratches, dark dots, or small pits can be normal brand characteristics and are not necessarily quality defects.
Chrome Hearts apparel may show fabric differences, loose threads inside the garment, uneven print clarity, irregular stitching, cracked prints, or wash fading. These can be normal brand characteristics.
6. What is a buyer store?
A buyer store works with professional overseas buyers and partner stores.
CHHES buyers are located worldwide, with many in the United States. They provide first-hand sourcing, and many also maintain domestic warehouses.
To ensure authenticity, items are centralized at the CHHES shipping point, inspected, and then packed for shipment.
7. How is a buyer store different from a personal shopper?
A personal shopper is usually an individual buyer, so sourcing capacity and available styles are limited.

8. Why are some items not eligible for return or exchange?
Chrome Hearts boutique purchases are generally not returnable or exchangeable. Items marked as non-returnable or non-exchangeable on the product page follow that policy.
9. Why does silver turn black or yellow?
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes and can turn black or yellow. Sulfur or sulfur dioxide in the air can react with silver and form grey-black silver sulfide.
Oxidation speed varies by body chemistry and environment. Keep silver dry and avoid contact with liquids.
If silver oxidizes, use a polishing cloth or polishing stick. Do not clean Chrome Hearts silver with silver washing liquid.
Some new rings may leave a little black residue at first. This is extra silver powder from the new item and usually disappears after a period of wear.
10. Why can the pattern vary on the same ring style?
Patterns and letters on a ring are adjusted for different ring sizes, so the layout may vary between sizes.
11. Why is the oxidation on silver not very black?
Chrome Hearts oxidation has its own look. It is not always deep black and can appear grey or brown-grey.
