Bearbrick (literally "brick bear" in Chinese) is the well-known collectible toy produced by Japanese company MediumICOM, officially launched in August 2001. By 2009, the 18 th generation had been released. Distributed in mainland China by PPW.
Nicknames: Bearbrick, be@rbrick, BB, building block bear, Brik bear, versatile Brik.
Bearbrick Basics:
Design:Each Bearbrick generation features base models: BASIC, JELLYBEAN, PATTERN, FLAG, HORROR, SF, CUTE, and ANIMAL.
BASIC Basic Style:Each edition launches a signature colorway. A bright bead sits on the chest, alongside 9 letters that spell B E A R B R I C K.
JELLYBEAN transparent style:Each series features transparent colors. While transparency is the main theme, various colorways are released.
PATTERN Pattern Style:Each edition features different graphics, prints, or special motifs.
FLAG (Flag Edition):Each generation features a basic flag series.
HORROR Horror Style:A menacing anime icon beloved by every generation
CUTE style:Each generation selects one charming design, mostly created by female designers.
ANIMAL:Each generation features an animal-themed design. It doesn't necessarily have to be a real animal—for the 18 series, it's the iconic Hello Kitty.
Sci-fi style:Choose a well-known sci-fi character as the motif.
ARTIST:Specially designed by renowned artists in very limited quantities (2 pieces per series).
Additionally, each generation includes a varying number of hidden editions whose designs are not officially disclosed—players must discover them on their own.

Specifications:Each generation includes a birth certificate for every bear, with one or several limited or hidden editions released to enhance the collecting experience.
Material:Bearbrick primarily uses ABS and PVC; some limited editions are crafted in metal, wood, or flocked finishes.
Origin:Most are produced in mainland China, with a small number of limited editions made abroad.
Edition:Players often refer to "Japanese version" or "Hong Kong version," but these simply indicate the sales region—no difference in the toy itself. All are produced by the same manufacturer. Different sales regions may have varying certification labels due to local regulations, but the product is otherwise identical. Mainland versions are exactly the same as Japanese ones.
Physical characteristics:
Head:Typical bear head with equal-sized ears (unlike Qee's mismatched ears), slightly rounded cheeks and snout, small rounded nose, no mouth or eyes (blank face), head rotates 360° at the neck
Body:Rounded belly, straight back
Arms:100% version features rotatable shoulders, claw-shaped fingerless hands, and wrists that rotate (key distinguishing feature from popobe and other bear collectibles).
Waist:Full 360° rotation with slightly extended hips.
Legs:Legs rotate freely in all directions at the upper-thigh joint. The foot top extends slightly forward with two round holes on each foot. The sole is flat with one round hole per foot. The leg shape is cube-like. Version info is usually printed on the back of the leg.
Disassembly:In principle, a Bearbrick's head, arms, and legs can all be detached from the torso by pulling with force (the hands cannot be removed). However, this is not recommended—repeated disassembly loosens the connection points, eventually leading to permanently loose, wobbly joints.
400%, 1000% Special Notes:400% and 1000% Bearbrick figures share the same body shape—just scaled up. However, their arms and legs rotate only forward and backward in a single plane and cannot swing sideways. This is due to the larger internal gear mechanism, unlike the 100% which uses simple modular assembly. Neither size is disassemblable—avoid using excessive force.
Origin:Bearbrick's limbs and torso resemble those of a building-block figure, as Bearbrick was adapted from the Kubrick design. The term Kubrick originated from LEGO's building-block figures; Medicom Company later developed Bearbrick based on this concept.
Personality:Bearbrick's nationwide popularity stems from its innovative design and meticulous paintwork—but more importantly, Medicom found the perfect entry point. By blending street culture, film, and fashion with Bearbrick, they created a fresh art form. Collaborating with global artists, designers, and popular brands to release limited and special editions—often paired with streetwear—queues stretching overnight became common. Prices climbed accordingly, making later acquisition a costly endeavor for collectors.

1. How does CHHES ensure authenticity?
CHHES follows a five-step authenticity process: sourcing review, inbound inspection, third-party authentication support, tamper-evident tagging, and after-sales review.
Items are mainly sourced from Chrome Hearts boutiques, professional buyers, and partner stores. Every item is checked before shipping.
Jewelry is checked for shape, engraving, handmade finishing, material, and oxidation details. Apparel is checked for anti-counterfeit details, serial information, embroidery labels, and workmanship.
Depending on the item, CHHES can provide a counter receipt scan or copy. Original receipts are kept by the buyer for record keeping.
Items may include a security tag or anti-swap sticker. Authentication after delivery is supported when the tag and packaging remain intact.

2. Why do some clothing items not include a DOG TG?
For Chrome Hearts apparel, US boutiques normally collect the DOG TG at checkout. Most Asian boutiques outside mainland China also collect it.
3. What packaging is included?
Chrome Hearts apparel usually comes in a plain clear plastic bag.
Chrome Hearts jewelry usually comes with a black suede pouch, not a boutique jewelry box.
Chrome Hearts bags usually come with a boutique silk dust bag.
Shopping bags are limited because boutiques usually provide only one shopping bag per buyer visit, not one bag per item.
If extra packaging is needed, it can be selected in the accessories category or on the order submission page.
4. Can CHHES provide boutique receipts?
Boutiques do not issue one separate receipt for each individual item. Contact support if a receipt copy is needed.
Original receipts must be kept by the buyer, so CHHES can only provide scans or copies when available.
5. What should I know about craftsmanship?
Chrome Hearts jewelry is handmade. Slightly unclear engravings, fine scratches, dark dots, or small pits can be normal brand characteristics and are not necessarily quality defects.
Chrome Hearts apparel may show fabric differences, loose threads inside the garment, uneven print clarity, irregular stitching, cracked prints, or wash fading. These can be normal brand characteristics.
6. What is a buyer store?
A buyer store works with professional overseas buyers and partner stores.
CHHES buyers are located worldwide, with many in the United States. They provide first-hand sourcing, and many also maintain domestic warehouses.
To ensure authenticity, items are centralized at the CHHES shipping point, inspected, and then packed for shipment.
7. How is a buyer store different from a personal shopper?
A personal shopper is usually an individual buyer, so sourcing capacity and available styles are limited.
A buyer store works with professional buyer teams and overseas partner stores, so supply is broader and less limited by one person or one location.
8. Why are some items not eligible for return or exchange?
Chrome Hearts boutique purchases are generally not returnable or exchangeable. Items marked as non-returnable or non-exchangeable on the product page follow that policy.
9. Why does silver turn black or yellow?
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes and can turn black or yellow. Sulfur or sulfur dioxide in the air can react with silver and form grey-black silver sulfide.
Oxidation speed varies by body chemistry and environment. Keep silver dry and avoid contact with liquids.
If silver oxidizes, use a polishing cloth or polishing stick. Do not clean Chrome Hearts silver with silver washing liquid.
Some new rings may leave a little black residue at first. This is extra silver powder from the new item and usually disappears after a period of wear.
10. Why can the pattern vary on the same ring style?
Patterns and letters on a ring are adjusted for different ring sizes, so the layout may vary between sizes.
11. Why is the oxidation on silver not very black?
Chrome Hearts oxidation has its own look. It is not always deep black and can appear grey or brown-grey.
