Bearbrick, widely known as Be@rbrick, is a toy produced by Japanese company MediumICOM. Officially launched in August 2001, the 18 th generation was released by 2009. Distributed in mainland China by PPW.
Nickname: Bearbrick, be@rbrick, BB, Brick Bear, Brick Bear Cub.
Bearbrick Overview:
Styles:Each Bearbrick series includes the base model in variants: BASIC, JELLYBEAN, PATTERN, FLAG, HORROR, SF, CUTE, and ANIMAL.
BASIC:Each generation features one signature color with a glossy bead on the chest and 9 letters that spell out B E A R B R I C K.
JELLYBEAN (transparent):Each generation comes in transparent colors with varying color variations as the primary feature.
PATTERN Pattern Style:Each generation features distinct patterns, prints, or special motifs.
FLAG Flag Style:Each generation includes a basic flag series.
HORROR (Scary Style):Scary anime character designs spanning every generation.
CUTE (Cute Style):A charming design from each generation, mostly by female designers.
ANIMAL:Each generation features an animal-themed design—not necessarily a real animal. The 18 th series includes the iconic Hello Kitty.

Version:When collectors mention "Japanese version," "Hong Kong version," etc., these simply refer to different regions of sale. The toys themselves are completely identical—all are produced by the same manufacturer. Due to varying regional regulations, different compliance labels may be applied. Otherwise, they are exactly the same. The mainland China version is identical to the Japanese version.
Body features:
Head:Typical Bearbrick head features: both ears are equal in size (unlike Qee's asymmetric ears), cheeks and mouth area slightly rounded, nose is a small rounded protrusion, no mouth or eyes (naked body), head rotates 360° at the neck
Torso:Belly rounded, back straight
Arms:The 100% style features arms that rotate freely at the shoulder and claw-shaped, fingerless hands that rotate at the wrist—a key distinguishing feature from popobe and other teddy bears
Waist:Rotates 360° freely with hips slightly extended downward.
Legs:Joints at the thigh root rotate freely in all directions. Tops of feet extend slightly forward with two round holes on each foot. Soles are flat with one round hole in each sole. Legs have a cube-like shape. Version information typically appears on the back of the legs.
Disassembly:In principle, the head, arms, and legs of a Bearbrick can be detached from the torso (just pull firmly — hands cannot be removed). However, we don't recommend this play style. Frequent disassembly loosens the connection points, eventually leading to habitual separation — wobbly and slack with no structural integrity.
400%, 1000% Special Note:These two sizes are identical in shape — simply scaled up. However, their arms and legs can only rotate within the frontal plane; lateral movement is not possible. This is due to the larger size and internal gear mechanism, unlike the 100% which uses simple modular assembly. These sizes are also non-disassemblable — do not force them apart.
Origin:Bearbrick's limbs and body resemble a block figure, since Bearbrick is built on the Kubrick design. Kubrick originated from LEGO block figures, and Medicom Toy developed Bearbrick based on that foundation.
Character:Bearbrick's widespread popularity stems from its innovative design and meticulous paintwork, but also from Medicom Toy finding the perfect niche. By blending street culture, fashion trends, and film with Bearbrick, they created a unique art form. Collaborations with global artists, designers, and lifestyle brands yielded limited and special editions. Pairings with streetwear labels drove overnight queue situations and frantic demand. Consequently, prices climbed significantly—collecting these pieces later requires a substantial investment.

1. How does CHHES ensure authenticity?

Depending on the item, CHHES can provide a counter receipt scan or copy. Original receipts are kept by the buyer for record keeping.

2. Why do some clothing items not include a DOG TG?
For Chrome Hearts apparel, US boutiques normally collect the DOG TG at checkout. Most Asian boutiques outside mainland China also collect it.
3. What packaging is included?
Chrome Hearts apparel usually comes in a plain clear plastic bag.
Chrome Hearts jewelry usually comes with a black suede pouch, not a boutique jewelry box.
Chrome Hearts bags usually come with a boutique silk dust bag.
Shopping bags are limited because boutiques usually provide only one shopping bag per buyer visit, not one bag per item.
If extra packaging is needed, it can be selected in the accessories category or on the order submission page.
4. Can CHHES provide boutique receipts?
Boutiques do not issue one separate receipt for each individual item. Contact support if a receipt copy is needed.
Original receipts must be kept by the buyer, so CHHES can only provide scans or copies when available.
5. What should I know about craftsmanship?
Chrome Hearts jewelry is handmade. Slightly unclear engravings, fine scratches, dark dots, or small pits can be normal brand characteristics and are not necessarily quality defects.
Chrome Hearts apparel may show fabric differences, loose threads inside the garment, uneven print clarity, irregular stitching, cracked prints, or wash fading. These can be normal brand characteristics.
6. What is a buyer store?
A buyer store works with professional overseas buyers and partner stores.
CHHES buyers are located worldwide, with many in the United States. They provide first-hand sourcing, and many also maintain domestic warehouses.

8. Why are some items not eligible for return or exchange?
Chrome Hearts boutique purchases are generally not returnable or exchangeable. Items marked as non-returnable or non-exchangeable on the product page follow that policy.
9. Why does silver turn black or yellow?
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes and can turn black or yellow. Sulfur or sulfur dioxide in the air can react with silver and form grey-black silver sulfide.
Oxidation speed varies by body chemistry and environment. Keep silver dry and avoid contact with liquids.
If silver oxidizes, use a polishing cloth or polishing stick. Do not clean Chrome Hearts silver with silver washing liquid.
Some new rings may leave a little black residue at first. This is extra silver powder from the new item and usually disappears after a period of wear.
10. Why can the pattern vary on the same ring style?
Patterns and letters on a ring are adjusted for different ring sizes, so the layout may vary between sizes.
11. Why is the oxidation on silver not very black?
Chrome Hearts oxidation has its own look. It is not always deep black and can appear grey or brown-grey.
