Bearbrick, widely known as BE@RBRICK, is a toy line produced by Japan’s MediumICOM Company. It launched in August 2001, with the 18 th generation released by 2009. PPW represents the brand in mainland China.
Also known as: BE@RBRICK, be@rbrick, BB, Brick Bear, or Transformable Bearbrick.
Bearbrick overview:
Models:Each Bearbrick generation includes BASIC, JELLYBEAN, PATTERN, FLAG, HORROR, SF, CUTE, and ANIMAL models.
BASIC base model:Each generation introduces a signature color and features one glossy bead on the chest, along with 9 letters spelling B E A R B R I C K.
JELLYBEAN Transparent:Each generation features a transparent color as the main shade, while also releasing variations in different colors.
PATTERN Graphic:Each generation features a different motif, print, or special design.
FLAG National Flag Style:Each generation features a core national flag design.
HORROR Horror Style:An eerie anime character from every generation.
CUTE cute style:In each generation, select a cute design, mostly created by female designers.
ANIMAL animal style:Each generation features an animal motif, though not necessarily a real animal. The 18 series includes the iconic Hello Kitty.
SF sci-fi style:Features a well-known sci-fi character.
ARTIST artist edition:Special styles specially designed by invited renowned artists, in very limited quantities. (2 per generation)
Each generation also includes hidden designs in varying quantities. The official designs are not announced, so players must discover them for themselves.
Size:7 cm 100%, 14.5 cm 200%, 28 cm 400%, 70 cm 1000%, plus 3.5 cm 50% and 5 cm 70%—six different sizes
Specifications:Each release includes a birth card for every Bearbrick, along with one or more limited-edition and hidden figures to make collecting more enjoyable.
Material:Bearbrick is primarily made from ABS and PVC, while select limited editions use metal, wood, or flocked fabric.
Origin:Most are produced in mainland China, while a small number of limited editions are made overseas.
Version:Terms such as “Japanese version” and “Hong Kong version” refer only to the sales region. There is no difference in the toys themselves, which are all made by the same manufacturer. Different certification labels may be added to comply with local laws, but everything else is identical. Mainland China versions are exactly the same as Japanese versions.
Shape features:
Head:A typical bear head with equally sized ears (unlike Qee’s large ears), slightly puffed cheeks, and a small rounded muzzle; unpainted and eyeless, with the head able to rotate 360° around the neck
Torso:Rounded belly with a straight back
Arms:The 100% model has fully rotating shoulders, claw-shaped hands without fingers, and fully rotating wrists (the key feature distinguishing it from Popobe and other bear figures)
Waist:Rotates freely 360°, with the hips extending slightly downward.
Legs:Rotate freely in all directions at the upper thigh. The foot extends slightly forward, with two circular holes on each instep. The soles are flat, with one round hole in each. The legs have a cubic shape. Version information is generally printed on the back of the legs.
Removable:In principle, a BE@RBRICK's head, arms, and legs can be detached from the torso by pulling them off, while the hands cannot. However, repeated removal is not recommended, as it can loosen the joints and leave the figure loose and wobbly over time.
400%, 1000% Special notes:These two Bearbrick sizes have the same shape, with one simply being larger. However, their arms and legs can only rotate forward and backward within a single plane and cannot move to the sides. This is due to their larger size and internal geared design, unlike the 100% model, which is simply assembled from modules. Neither size is removable, so never use excessive force.
Place of origin:Bearbrick's limbs and body resemble those of a brick-style figure because Bearbrick retains the design of the Kubrick. The term “Kubrick” originated with LEGO brick figures, and Medicom designed Bearbrick based on that concept.
Personality:Bearbrick’s global popularity comes from its innovative designs and meticulous paintwork, as well as Medicom’s ability to identify the right cultural crossover. By combining street trends, street culture, and film with Bearbrick, the brand created entirely new works of art. Collaborations with artists, designers, and fashion brands around the world introduced limited editions and special releases. Items are mainly sourced from Chrome Hearts boutiques, professional buyers, and partner stores. Every item is checked before shipping.
Jewelry is checked for shape, engraving, handmade finishing, material, and oxidation details. Apparel is checked for anti-counterfeit details, serial information, embroidery labels, and workmanship.
Depending on the item, CHHES can provide a counter receipt scan or copy. Original receipts are kept by the buyer for record keeping.
Items may include a security tag or anti-swap sticker. Authentication after delivery is supported when the tag and packaging remain intact.

2. Why do some clothing items not include a DOG TG?
For Chrome Hearts apparel, US boutiques normally collect the DOG TG at checkout. Most Asian boutiques outside mainland China also collect it.
3. What packaging is included?
Chrome Hearts apparel usually comes in a plain clear plastic bag.
Chrome Hearts jewelry usually comes with a black suede pouch, not a boutique jewelry box.
Chrome Hearts bags usually come with a boutique silk dust bag.
Shopping bags are limited because boutiques usually provide only one shopping bag per buyer visit, not one bag per item.
If extra packaging is needed, it can be selected in the accessories category or on the order submission page.
4. Can CHHES provide boutique receipts?
Boutiques do not issue one separate receipt for each individual item. Contact support if a receipt copy is needed.
Original receipts must be kept by the buyer, so CHHES can only provide scans or copies when available.
5. What should I know about craftsmanship?
Chrome Hearts jewelry is handmade. Slightly unclear engravings, fine scratches, dark dots, or small pits can be normal brand characteristics and are not necessarily quality defects.
Chrome Hearts apparel may show fabric differences, loose threads inside the garment, uneven print clarity, irregular stitching, cracked prints, or wash fading. These can be normal brand characteristics.
6. What is a buyer store?
A buyer store works with professional overseas buyers and partner stores.
CHHES buyers are located worldwide, with many in the United States. They provide first-hand sourcing, and many also maintain domestic warehouses.
To ensure authenticity, items are centralized at the CHHES shipping point, inspected, and then packed for shipment.
7. How is a buyer store different from a personal shopper?
A personal shopper is usually an individual buyer, so sourcing capacity and available styles are limited.
A buyer store works with professional buyer teams and overseas partner stores, so supply is broader and less limited by one person or one location.
8. Why are some items not eligible for return or exchange?
Chrome Hearts boutique purchases are generally not returnable or exchangeable. Items marked as non-returnable or non-exchangeable on the product page follow that policy.
9. Why does silver turn black or yellow?
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes and can turn black or yellow. Sulfur or sulfur dioxide in the air can react with silver and form grey-black silver sulfide.
Oxidation speed varies by body chemistry and environment. Keep silver dry and avoid contact with liquids.
If silver oxidizes, use a polishing cloth or polishing stick. Do not clean Chrome Hearts silver with silver washing liquid.
Some new rings may leave a little black residue at first. This is extra silver powder from the new item and usually disappears after a period of wear.
10. Why can the pattern vary on the same ring style?
Patterns and letters on a ring are adjusted for different ring sizes, so the layout may vary between sizes.
11. Why is the oxidation on silver not very black?
Chrome Hearts oxidation has its own look. It is not always deep black and can appear grey or brown-grey.
